In contrast to the online nature of the talks, the identity is inspired by NCAD as a physical place. Focusing on the shapes of the buildings on-campus, these are used as assets throughout the design. Building on the existing logo, we wanted to link the talks’ physical home, and its mostly student audience, to our visiting online speakers.
Our social media proposal utilised a tile format to create a map of NCAD, as well as using the building forms as frames for speaker portraits. The colour palette was swatched from images captured around campus, further reinforcing the design’s connection to NCAD.
